Beast Mode Goal: Trading Fat for Muscle

On August 5, 2012, I weighed in at 153 pounds. On April 7, 2013, I weighed in at 130 pounds. I find it hard to believe that I have actually lost 23 pounds over eight months. I still get on and off the scale just to look at the number and make sure I’m not seeing things.

I know I have lost weight because I can fit into a pair of size 6 skinny jeans and I haven’t been a size 6 since I was in my twenties and I am far from my twenties. I have tossed out my size 12, 10, and 8 jeans. WOOT!

Though I’ve lost the weight and I’m near my target of 125 pounds, I need to get the excess Buddha (aka fat) off my body. That’s the hardest part. Turning fat into muscle…

So now my beast mode has turned into muscle beast mode. Do not misinterpret this: I hate working out. I dread it. I fear it. I don’t like it. If I could throw a two year old tantrum and lay and kick on the floor while crying at the top of my lungs, I would.

Oddly enough, I rather like the pain I put my body through. Sadistic, I know.

So, I hate working out, but the pain is a reminder of how far I’ve pushed and can push my body without it giving up on me.

Tomorrow, I start a 12 week workout and it will be nothing like what I had planned for Beast Mode 2013. It will be based around a body building working out because what I currently have planned has little strength training…

So here’s to dropping the fat and the last 5 lbs of Buddha…
