There are words you never forget
Like a chorus that plays over and over in your head
The sounds of your last breathe
Why did this road lead to your death?
Life, oh so cruel, to steal us away from you
Your last words, “goodnight baby”
Forever seared into my ears
Stained with my tears
Held together by my fears
How could I go on without you?
How could I bear to come home without you there?
There are sounds you never forget
The ventilation machine keeping your breathe
How was I going to go on without you?
How was I going bear to come home without you there?
I will never forget the sounds of your last breathe and
Your last words, “goodnight baby” are words I will never forget
