Music for the Soul

Songs of My Life: October 2014

October was a quiet month but the songs were sort of soul connecting and reminders to just be.

“Home” by Linus Young
This song is the intro to Linus Young’s debut album, Category 5, and It’s absolutely beautiful. I love the music with the church bells and the lyrics: “There are days when I feel like dying. There are nights when I feel alone. But today I, feel the comfort as my father calls me home.”

“Stay Human” (acoustic) by Michael Franti
“…The negativity we keep it at a distance. Call for backup and I’ll give you some assistance…”

“You Look So Good to Me” by Thief
I stumbled onto Thief via fellow musician LANKS and I just dig this song. I can’t stop listening to it!

“Song for Someone” by U2
Love, love, love this song. Fell in love with it even more when U2 played it on the Graham Norton Show acoustic (video at the bottom of this post). And I really love these lyrics, “If there is a light you can’t always see and there is a world we can’t always be. If there is a dark that we shouldn’t doubt and there is a light, don’t let it go out and this is a song, song for someone…If there is a kiss I stole from your mouth…

“Runaway” by Katastro
Stumbled onto this song/band on Soundcloud and damn it’s just catchy.
