November was apparently pop-tart music month! Holy cow on the pop music! To be honest, I’m not even mad about. Sometimes, you just need to shake what your mama & daddy gave ya.
“Wicked Ones” by Dorothy
All I have to say about this song/band is HOLY FREAKING SHIT. Do they ninja kick you in the teeth and leave you wanting more? You betcha! I can’t stop listening to them and I love, love, love this song. “This night ain’t for the faint of heart, ’cause the faint of heart gonna fall apart…Ain’t no sleep when the wicked play. All we do is get laid. Ain’t no love when the wicked run…”
“Eat Raw Meat = Blood Drool” by Editors
I just love this song.
“All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor
I have to thank Suzanne for this and the next 3 songs. 2 weekends in a row with a late night dance party until 5 am makes being an adult not so sucky!
“Habits (Stay High)” by Tove Lo
What a hot mess! If you listen to the lyrics, you’ll understand, what a hot mess. But we’ve all probably felt like this.
“Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift
I did not want to like this song, but dammit, it’s just catchy. And I do like the lyrics, “haters are gonna hate.” Plus the video is cute. Made me not hate the song so much.
“Freaking Out” by Flo Rida featuring StayC Reign
I have no shame in saying I LIKE FLO RIDA! Dude can come up with some infectious pop tunes and I ain’t mad at him for it. I love these lyrics: “I plan to get white boy wasted…The room spinning and I’m done. Shot like shark, bang bang, that’s a gun. I shoulda auditioned for hangover 1, 2, 3…On the side, never ever ever ever drink again…Too much alcohol…”
“Eat You Alive” by Emigrate featuring Frank Dellé
I can’t wait to have this full album in my hands. I really enjoyed Emigrate’s debut album and have been patiently waiting for the sophomore follow up.
“Too Cool To Dance (Manufactured Superstars Remix)” by Eden xo
I have to thank Ronnie for this song and the next song. I enjoy getting his mixes because they’re usually filled with music that makes me want to dance. His latest mix had this infectious remix on it. I was shocked at how different the original sounded to the remix. You can hear both below. I like the following lyrics in the song: “I like boys with attitude, skinny jeans and good tattoos…When the bass kicks in we’re not too cool to dance…We don’t care if no one understands. No one understands. We’re not too cool to dance…” God knows I’m not the world’s best dancer, but I dance anyway.
“I Don’t Care (Cahill Radio Edit)” by Cheryl
We have probably all felt these lyrics:
“I don’t care and it feels so fucking good to say I swear, that I don’t care. And everywhere, there are ordinary hearts that don’t play fair, but I don’t care…”
