It’s funny how life works out. Sometimes you jump and the Universe catches you. Sometimes you jump and you fall on your face, but you get up, dust yourself off and try (or jump) again and the Universe catches you.
Sometimes, it’s the small voice that speaks inside that says, remember.
And I remember.
I remember this. My career mentor and friend, Jack Daniel, once said to me: “It’s the quality of life that will matter, not the quantity or the career.”
Boy, did he nail it. Boy, has that message stuck with me.
I’m at the point again, listening to not only the voice that speaks inside, but to my body. It is tired. It is heavy. It is battling anxiety like never before with stomach aches, headaches, body aches, and over all sense of fear. My mind has become a battle field of dread and absolute terror and my heart and soul have become numb.
It’s not a way to live. It’s not a quality of life.
A change has to be made. A change will be made.
Like the Our Lady Peace album HAPPINESS IS NOT A FISH THAT YOU CAN CATCH, you can’t catch happy. What makes one person happy will not make another person happy. Your joy is yours and no one else’s. They don’t have to understand. They don’t have to like it.
Being happy is a very personal decision and only you can make it.
Your happiness is yours and yours alone.
