I woke up in bit of a funk this morning. Partly due to the lack of sleep, the headache I feel asleep with, the slight freak out of money now that I’m back from Australia, and how I was suppose to start my reboot of life this week but moved it to next week, dreary weather and so on and so on.
Which made me think of my friend Heather and her tweet about a song I should buy and she followed it with “I can’t stop singing it and it sounds so much like you.”
The song is called “When It Comes My Turn” by David Myles and it’s a dandy song (watch & listen below)! I remembered the lyrics and let it rule and make my day…in a good way of course. Besides, how could you not be in a good mood after listening to it.
Today I learned: I need to do what it takes to keep a smile on my face. If it’s listening to music, reading quotes, knowing I have champions in my corner, walking into my boss’ office to talk about how bad his favorite hockey team sucks, writing, playing fetch with my dog, or having a glass of wine…it’s no one’s choice but my own.
We are responsible for our own happiness. Not money. Not friends. Not social media. Not our jobs.
Just us. Just the person that looks back at you in the mirror.
Epiphany…revelation…realization…whatever you want to call it..the fate of your life is in your hands.
Living loudly,
~Shelia
“I want to die with a smile when it comes my turn. I don’t want to get weary, I don’t want to get bored. Don’t want to get tired walking down this road. I’ve seen that happen so many times. I just want to believe that it still worth trying…I don’t care if it kills me, I’m gonna do what it takes, to keep some warmth in my heart and a smile on my face.
