On Sunday, December 4th, I watched goalie, Mike Murphy, help his team add a win to their belt.

On Tuesday, December 7th, after being called up by the Carolina Hurricanes, Mike Murphy made NHL History in the game against Calgary Flames.

“Murphy is the first goalie in NHL history to record a loss before allowing a goal, per Elias Sports Bureau. He stopped the only two shots he faced in his NHL debut, but he became the goalie of record when Iginla’s empty-netter turned into the game-winner.” – Aaron Vickers – NHL.com Correspondent
