“Dead Broke Blues” by Mid City
I was lucky to see Mid City when they played in Newtown at the start of February. This was this song that made me a fan.
“Old Habits” by Mid City
Why have one Mid City song when you can have two? This is the 2nd song they’ve released so far and it’s damn catchy.
“No Need to Worry” by Mishka
This song is like Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” as it tells you to just let go and don’t worry. This song is a reminder that worry does nothing for you.
“Tin Cup Chalice” by Jimmy Buffett
This will always be one of my favourite Buffett songs. It will always remind me of sunsets at Mallory Square in Key West and remind me that life doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as oysters and beer.
“I’ve Got to Use My Imagination” by Gladys Knight & the Pips
If you don’t find yourself groovin’ to this song when you hear it, there is something wrong with you. The bass is classic and this song hits you in the soul.
“Girlfriend” by Avril Lavigne
I’ve heard this song for the last few Tuesdays where I train. It’s still a damn catchy song. And makes doing Elevated Single-Leg Squats a bit easier.
“I Want it That Way” by Backstreet Boys
Picture if you will…a gym…blaring boybands on Valentine’s Day. Not because the gym is filled with female personal trainers who might be reliving a brief teenage crush, but because it’s all male trainers who might have lifted one too many weights that morning. I had this song stuck in my head the entire day.
“Troublemaker” by Weezer
Cuz this song is damn infectious and easy to run too.
“Leave the Light On” by Beth Hart
As I prepped to see Beth, I was just reminded how great this song is. It still hits my soul. Especially the lyrics, “I wish that moon would follow me home…I wanna love and I wanna live. I don’t know much about it and I never did.”
“Finally” by CeCe Peniston
This song was playing on the overhead at the grocery store and everyone in the isle was singing or grooving to it. It made my day. You can’t be in a bad when this song is one.
