I got this idea from Amy a while back but haven’t really followed through on actually listing the songs here, but May has been a great month for me…more emotionally & mentally than anything else.
I believe I have finally found the closure and peace with my mom passing away. I saw the signs and listened to my heart and let go. I’m going to continue living and loving and having fun. It’s what she wants. It’s what her spirit wants and the final sign was today. I come from visiting my sister & her family who live with my dad and for the first time since my mom passed away, I did not cry when I got home. I didn’t feel sadness or hurt. It was as of if I opened my eyes for the first time this week since my mom died. I am seeing again and I am happy about that.
So here are the songs of May. They helped me heal and if you’re reading this, then maybe they can bring some good to you as well…

2. Love Left to Lose – Sons of Sylvia
3. G-Get Up and Dance – Faber Drive
4. She Won’t Be Lonely Long – Clay Walker
5. Your Own Disaster – Taking Back Sunday
6. It Happens – Sugarland
7. Feeling Good – Nina Simone

10. Love Dog – TV on the Radio
11. Sugar Town – Zooey Deschanel
12. Chicken Fried – Zac Brown Band
13. American Honey – Lady Antebellum (This song reminds me of my Mom and my niece Riley. No real reason why but I see them when I see the lyrics come to life in my head)
14. If You Were Here – Poe (This song is to Poe’s father and a conversation between father & daughter. When it popped up on my iTunes on May 6th, I sobbed like a baby but believe the closure started on that night.)
15. A New Beginning – 26 (I had just written my post “Letting Go” and sent a tweet out. An author I follow had tweeted about this song. I clicked on the link & this song was everything I needed. I had let go and now I was about to have a new beginning…www.26theband.com
