I discovered Motionless in White (MIW) through my niece, Riley. When she introduce me to them, the were set to play the Masquerade in Atlanta, GA. And as a music fan, I feel that everyone should see at least one show by their favorite band at that venue. I got us tickets and off we went. As then teen Riley gave me the history of her band on our car ride down, is when I realized…
Everything is connected.
Her favorite band’s name was inspired by one my favorite band’s tracks. They had gotten their name from the Eighteen Vision‘s track “Motionless and White” from their album The Best of Eighteen Visions. So, as she introduced me to MIW, I introduced her to 18V. Since that fateful car ride, I’ve had a bit of a soft spot for MIW in my music heart. They will always be tied to that memory of us sharing music and I’ve been a fan of them since.
This brand spanking new Motionless in White track is not for the faint eared. It’s heavy, feels like violence, but lyrically it’s a pretty uplifting song. And the nerd within me is gonna love any song that has the word juxtapose in it and uses it correctly.
If this little teaser from MIW is any indication of what’s to come, I’m going to have a substantially heavy and smashing great album from the band when they release it. Until then, “Timebomb” will do.
