Okay, it at least contains 2 Songs of the Day.

I didn’t get to post yesterday’s song of the day like I had planned/hoped. I ended up cutting my Friday night short to sit in the ER with friends to make sure another friend’s fall on some stairs was nothing serious. As we sat and talked and tried to keep the air light, I realized that though we weren’t all friends (some acquaintances, know by association, co-workers, etc), but it didn’t matter because when we left, we’d all be friends just through this happenstance. Everything turned out all right. We did the right thing by taking her to the ER. A bump on the head is nothing to laugh off. Trust me, I know first hand how something small can turn into something deadly.

Anyway, this song is for friends. For the ones that we consider our comrades, allies, confidants, partner in crimes, and so on.

January 14th Song of the Day: “American Honey” by Lady Antebellum

Today’s song of the day is for my oldest niece Riley. I have always thought of her when I hear or listen to this song. I don’t get to spend the time with her like I use to. She’s 12 going on 25 and is growing like a weed but she’s still my little Stinker and always will be. There is nothing I wouldn’t do to always have a smile on her face and happiness in her heart. Riley, I love you as big as the sky!
