Day 1
we arrived around 9 am & jumped out of the car with excitement. A) we were out of the car B) we were in Key West. Our room wasn’t ready so I dragged Suzanne to Pepes, one of my favorite restaurants in Key West. There we befriended, Jimmy the bartender and later local tour guide. If it’s possible to get wasted before 11am, then it happens in Key West. Suzanne and I down the following: shots of patron, Miller Lites, margaritas, mimosas, screwdrivers, & Red Bull vodkas … lord have mercy on our livers. Afterwards, we crash & burn for at least 7 hours of much needed sleep. Upon waking up, Suzanne is feeling under the weather and I’m feeling hungover. We power thru dinner and put on our rally caps. We meet Jimmy at Captain Tony’s and start our bar crawl: Captain Tony’s, Irish Kevin’s, The Porch, Willie T’s, & Finnigan’s.
Suzanne is in love with Key West. Myself, already love it. My soul is happy. This island has a way of making all your problems and worries disappear while you’re here. That is the magic of Key West.
Apologies for typos & such…trying blogging from an email for the 1st time.
