I’ve been radio silent since I wrapped up my Aussie World Tour in December and I’d like to say it’s because I’ve been so busy or too lazy, but I can’t use either excuse. My life here in Australia 2016 has been amazing and it’s not that I don’t want to share them, I don’t necessarily want to share with the entire interweb. I feel that if I do, I might cheapen the experience and the moments I have and am […]
Iceland. I can tell you that I never thought about Iceland as a travel bucket list item nor have I ever given it any thought of travel. In fact, before I went to Iceland, I couldn’t tell you a lot about the dang island. So when my travel-in-shenanigans-partner-in-crime Amy asked, “Wanna go to Iceland with me?” I of course said “Yes.” Why wouldn’t I go? New country. An island. Why not? My main goal was to finally see the Northern […]

As 2015 kicks off, I have one target that has consumed me since January 3, 2012: Australia (and if I’m completely honest, it was even prior to that date, but that was the date of my flight back to the US from my 3 weeks in Australia.) While I was on the flight back to the US, my friend Heather said that I seemed sad, and sad was not even close to describing what I was feeling.
I felt like I was leaving home.
There are places that feel like home the moment you step foot in them and I had never understood that until the moment I landed in Key West circa 2000
If eternity is measured by memories treasured in the hearts of loved cities and friends…Then Shel surely knows that he lives as he goes to the The Place Where The Sidewalk Ends. – Sullins Stuart This piece of concrete etched with those words lays outside of one of my favorite churches: St Paul’s Episcopal Church. I’ve never been in the church. I just stand outside and admire the beauty of it whenever I’m in Key West. It’s stark white against […]

It’s 2:40 pm and I’m somewhere over the US…not sure where because I fell asleep before take off. I lost an hour and didn’t even get abducted by aliens! I’ve traveled 256 air miles with 347 air miles to go. I’m a little closer to the sun…in the air and on the ground.
I am leaving for Montego Bay on Thursday morning and returning on Sun night. Packing for me is easy and I sometimes over pack, but on my last huge excursion, which was to Australia, I learned how to pack everything I needed for 3 weeks in one bag. I have a friend who is completely astonished by what I packed for Montego Bay, but this is how one needs to look at packing: What will you be doing mostly on […]
