REVIEW: For the People Inside by The Midnight Hollow

I stumbled onto THE MIDNIGHT HOLLOW on Soundcloud back in December 2014 with their track “FORWARD” and I fell for this band hook, line, and sinker. I immediately bought “FORWARD” and everything they had available on iTunes. Seriously, I cannot stop listening to them. It’s like a drug. As I listened, I would find something new and intriguing about their music. I was pretty stoked … Continue reading REVIEW: For the People Inside by The Midnight Hollow

Songs of My Life: March 2015

I never know if the songs of my life will have a consistent theme or message each month. Sometimes, it’s obvious as each song connects but most of the time, I don’t see a theme/message until I sit down an reflect and write this post. The theme/message of March was one word: RELEASE. I have/had a lot of pent up stress, frustration, emotions, thoughts, blah, blah, blah and … Continue reading Songs of My Life: March 2015

Songs of My Life: February 2015

February was a short month but for all that is and was holy, it ninja kicked me in the face. Work made me feel like I was slowly drowning in ad plan after ad plan, stack of files after stack of files. The Universe showed me beauty, heartbreaking sadness, moments of strength, and that if you believe and talk it out, and are there for someone when they need it the most, it wraps everyone in a hug that is needed. January was indeed … Continue reading Songs of MY Life: January 2015

December 2013…I don’t even know what I listened to but I’m gonna go with “The South” by The Cadillac Three. I didn’t get to make it home for Xmas that year and was stuck in snow covered Detroit. This song was a piece of my home, my memories, my family. “This is where I was born and this is where I will die. It’s all … Continue reading 30 Day Song Challenge Redux (Day 30): Your Favorite Song at This Time Last Year

30 Day Song Challenge Redux (Day 29): Song from Your Childhood

“You are My Sunshine” by Boxcar Willie alway seemed to be playing in my memories of my childhood. I don’t know if it’s a real memory or one I’ve just imagined. My mom said she sang the song to me and my sister as she did to my nieces as she held and rocked them to sleep.
